    NSWBUA Inc. Umpires Seminar 2010

      

    This course is aimed at anyone interested in becoming a baseball umpire, current Level O umpires and those umpiring Tee Ball, junior or senior games who don't have a current accreditation. Mechanics for the Tee Ball and Little League 60' diamond will be taught. No prior umpiring experience is required.

    For those umpires who have passed the ABF Level 1 Exam and are seeking to renew their accreditation, please read this or attend our monthly meeting to learn how we intend to help you retain your accreditation.
     

    Please read the following instructions:


    VENUE:                    Blacktown Olympic Park.

    DATES:

    Friday 3rd September 2010 - 6:00 pm Registration for a 7:00 pm start.
    Saturday 4th September 2010 - 8:30 am until 5:30 pm
    Sunday 19th September 2010 - 8:30 am until 4:30 pm


    COSTS:                       

    $100 per non-NSWBUA Member or an inactive NSWBUA Member*
    $50 per Active NSWBUA Member*.

    * an active member is one who has received umpire fees from the NSWBUA within the last two year.


    REQUIREMENTS:      
    Participants must have the physical ability to participate in a training program that requires frequent voice projection, stretching, bending, squatting, jogging, sprinting, and standing for periods of two hours or more and participate in a daily conditioning program of organized medium-impact aerobics designed to exercise and strengthen muscle groups most utilised by umpires.

    We are attempting to overcome the problem of having to register twice if payment is not completed on the initial registration.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    If you have umpire gear and an umpire uniform please bring it, otherwise bring suitable clothing and footwear to enable you to run, a rule book, writing material, sun screen and a water bottle. 

    Also bring a glove if you have one.

    All NSWBUA members are invited to register and attend our AGM.

    All baseball umpires are invited to attend the training session that will follow the AGM.

    Your umpiring questions, incidents and other questions will be answered.

    Formal technical presentation by our State Director of Umpiring, John Robertson.

    1st to 3rd Mechanics (Recent Changes)

    Level O   -   Orientation to Umpiring

    This course will introduce you to the responsibilities, skills and rules of baseball umpiring. Instruction will be by ABF Instructors to the standards required by the Australian Baseball Federation. There is no assessment, however there will be some practical instruction during which participants will be introduced to umpiring techniques.

    This course is the minimum level of training our umpires should have to officiate at our games. At completion of the course participants will be registered with the Level O qualification and will be provided with a copy of the official Australian Baseball Rules.

    Players and parents are encouraged to attend this course. Players 12 yrs and older are encouraged to attend.

           Monday 25th october 2010
           6:30 pm Registration for a 7:00 pm start

    COST:
           $25.00 per person

    REQUIREMENTS:       
    No special equipment required.Participants will be involved in some light physical activity. Please wear comfortable clothing which will allow for some running, bending etc.

    All attendees must register individually. If you are being sponsored  by your club or association you may stop the registration process when asked for payment.
