  • Participant registrations fees will be paid by Carlingford Baseball Club.
  • Participant registrations fees will be paid by Castle Hill Baseball Club.
  • Any parents that have children attending, may attend the course for free (limit of one per paid attendee)
  • Players that have been invited to assist with the operations of the course, by assisting instructors with different drills etc

Community Umpiring - Orientation to Umpiring
(Previously known as Level O)

This course will introduce you to the responsibilities, skills and rules of baseball umpiring. Instruction will be by BA Instructors to the standards required by Baseball Australia, There is no assessment, however there will be some practical instruction during which participants will be introduced to umpiring techniques.

This course is the minimum level of training our umpires should have to officiate at our games. At completion of the course participants will be registered with the Level O.

This course is ideal for both players, coaches and parents, to gain a better understanding of the game.

Parents of students attending this course are entitled (and encouraged) to attend for free. 

Carlingford Baseball Club.

11:30 is the approximate finish time.

The earlier start is to try and avoid some the day's heat. The diamond will also be used for a game just after lunchtime, so we will need to vacate.


  • Course fees for Carlingford participants will be covered by the Carlingford club.
  • Course fees for Castle Hill participants will be covered by the Castle Hill club.

Participants from each of these clubs should contact their club administrator for the registration code, prior to registration.

Other attendees are welcome, but will need cover their own costs of $35.


If you are a parent of a student registered on the course, and would like to attend for free, please email me at hills@nswbua.org, after registering the student and I will then manually register you to the course.

No special equipment required. Participants will be involved in some light physical activity. Please wear comfortable clothing which will allow for some running, bending etc.

All attendees must register individually.

Please ensure you register with a valid email address. Handouts for the course, that sumarise the content, will be emailed to each participant at the completion of the course.

If you have to return to complete registration or payment, please ignore the warning about duplicate registration. The same email address may be used for multiple registrations.

Registrations will close 22nd of November. 2018 - 3 days prior to the course.

There is a limit of this course is 25 participants.

Pre - Seminar Requirements

Please complete the online Australian Sports Commission Officiating General Principles course. This is a mandatory component of the training.


You will need to register on this site, then complete the Officiating General Principles Course and bring the printed certificate with you or email it to hills@nswbua.org
